Thor Heyerdahl’s raft

About The Kon-Tiki Museum

Thor Heyerdahl (1914–2002) crossed the Pacific on the balsawood raft Kon-Tiki in 1947, VisitOSLO records; the original raft is shown under a living sky with the ocean beneath, in a new exhibition opened in summer 2026, the museum says. The reed raft Ra II, which crossed the Atlantic, and the Tigris expedition are here too. Bus 30 runs from Jernbanetorget every 10 minutes.
