In the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries, Oslo has a restaurant with Three Stars, Maaemo in Bjørvika; one with Two, Kontrast by the Akerselva; and seven with One: Statholdergaarden, Mon Oncle, SAVAGE, Sabi Omakase, Credo, Stallen and Hot Shop. Frances Vinbar and The Little Pickle hold the Bib Gourmand, and a further seventeen tables are in the selection.
The starred tables
Maaemo holds Three MICHELIN Stars and Kontrast Two in the 2026 guide. Statholdergaarden, on Rådhusgata in Kvadraturen, Mon Oncle, SAVAGE, Sabi Omakase, Credo in the National Library, Stallen and Hot Shop each hold One.
The waterfront
Around Bjørvika and the Opera, the MICHELIN Guide lists Cru, Vaaghals, Madonna, Varemottaket and Betong; on Tjuvholmen, Sjømagasinet; at Akershus Fortress, Festningen.
Book the starred tables weeks ahead, and remember that wine and spirits are sold in shops only at Vinmonopolet.
The neighbourhoods
West of the centre, Eero, Frances Vinbar and Plah share a corner of Frogner; Brasserie Blanche and FYR are near Majorstuen, Kolonialen Bislett and Smalhans in St Hanshaugen, and The Little Pickle and Hot Shop on the east side.
Classic Oslo
For the old city, Theatercaféen, the Grand Café, Ekebergrestauranten on its hill and Frognerseteren above Holmenkollen.
Our advice: see our article on Norwegian cuisine for the dishes to look for.
