About Kartverket: registering a sale
Kartverket, the Norwegian Mapping Authority, is the land-registration authority: it registers transfers of property and handles document duty, which is 2.5 per cent of the property’s value at registration, in Skatteetaten’s and Kartverket’s words. Shares in housing cooperatives (borettslag) pay no document duty.
